Description:
|
Along
BC's 'Sea to Sky Highway' that winds along the mountainside
between West Vancouver and Squamish, BC, beautiful reddish
coloured evergreen Arbutus trees can be found dotted
along the roadside. Shown here is the framed view of
this painting.
It realistically
shows the actual beautifully coloured Ocean water of
the Howe Sound which turns a bright teal colour in Spring/
Summer as it is fed from the surrounding mountain glaciers.
The painting has several elements that Dr. DM Flather
was known for in his paintings - excellent perspective
and his bold use of colour.
The setting
is in the Howe Sound Region that lay between Vancouver
and Squamish/ Whistler, BC.

Donald
was a highly "unusual Artist" in the sense
that we are not aware of any attempts for Donald to
sell his paintings. Rather, it is apparent that he painted
for the true love of painting - much preferring to gift
his best paintings to friends and Family.
