This original oil on board painting features several elements that Dr. DM Flather was known for in his paintings - accurate and bold use of colour as well as excellent perspective. He is said to have had a photographic memory - particularly with colours in Nature.

This small lake sits alongside the Trans Canada Highway (also known as the Fraser Canyon Highway) a few miles North of Hope, BC.

This painting likely comes from Donald's popular "Fraser River Region BC Paintings Series" that Donald painted between 1941 and 1977.
