This original framed oil on canvas painting features several elements that Dr. DM Flather was known for in his paintings - accurate and bold use of colour as well as excellent perspective and lighting effects. Shown here is the 27th Annual BC Artists Exhibition tag - these were annual select and juried art exhibitions held at the Vancouver Art Gallery Museum.

This is an early fall sunrise scene on Pavillion Lake as you can see the green leaves just beginning to turn colour on the Aspen trees on the shoreline. Apparently, NASA used Pavillion Lake for deep water tests for the space program as apparently it is a very deep lake.

This painting comes from Donald's popular "Central BC Paintings Series" that Donald painted between 1952 and 1975 and is number 4 in this Series.
