Description:

This is an important Winter landscape painting of Donald's - from his "Purcell, Selkirk and Rocky Mountain Series". The painting combines all of the elements that Donald is known for including great subject matter, perspective, sweeping glaciers and highly charged and stylized treatment of the clouds. You can almost feel the chill of the Winter wind blowing snow in this painting. It also comes from his highly sought after early career period.

Signed on the front. This painting was selected by the Vancouver Art Gallery Museum's Curator to be included in their permanenet Canadian Historic Art Collection. Upon this request, Donald's Grandson, David Flather was happy to donate this painting to this important Art Institution.
