Annual BC Artists Exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery - Juried
Shows. Circa
1945 -1955.
Donald
participated in many of these - usually exhibiting 2 of his works
in each, alongside great famous BC artists that included paintings
by Emily Carr, Lawren Harris, Bess Harris, J.W.G. MacDonald, B.C.
Binning, W.P Weston and others.
In addition, DM
Flather had some paintings exhibited at the Art Gallery of
Toronto during this period.
2. Solo Show
- North Vancouver Court House and City Hall. March 21 to
April 18, 1991.
Approximately 40 of Donald's paintings were on Public Display
only. Presented by Donald's youngest Son, Dr. Verne Donald Flather.

4. Solo
show - The Plaza Galleries, Whistler, BC. June 29 -July 30, 1997.

Written by Daniel Wood.
Quote from the aticle: "He painted for over 50 years, totally
unrecognized, every week, every month, every year." The story
featured 7 paintings and was approximately 8 pages in length.

"Unveil the Trail" - joint show held in Victoria in
support of the Trans Canada Trail Project. April 7 to April 29,
2000.

"Pioneers in Canadian Art". June 26 - July 18, 2000.
Joint show with Mildred Valley Thornton held at The Federation
of Canadian Artists and Westbridge Fine Art.

As part of the fundraising campaign for The Federation of
Canadian Artists, this show was one of the first of its kind for
the Federation, as it looked at Artists who helped mold the Canadian
and BC Art scene during the period when the Federation was formed
in 1941. Lawren Harris, Emily Carr and Donald Flather were original
members of this important Artist's Association.
Both Donald and Mildred shared a concern for both the Environment
as well as Canada's Indigenous Peoples. Both dedicated a great
deal of their lives to documenting Canada's stunning Wilderness,
as well as important Cultures and their Peoples.

"ART FOR A CAUSE" 2003
Exhibition Dates: August 25, 2003 thru December 12, 2003.
Location: Centennial Theatre for Performing Arts, North Vancouver.

The Art Emporium Art Gallery - Circa 2003 and Beyond
Granville Street, Vancouver, BC
Known as one of Canada's leading Fine Art Galleries featuring
all of the Group of Seven Canadian Artists, Emily Carr, Jean Paul
Riopelle and other leading historical Canadian Artists, The Art
Emporium acquired the remaining collection of Dr. DM Flather's
original oil paintings to "take them to the next level"
in the Canadian Art Collecting Industry. David Flather continued
to work with The Art Emporium's Owner, Torben Kristiansen until
mid-2012 to offer marketing support for his Granddad's beautiful
collection of artworks. Mr. Kristansen was able to not only greatly
increase DM Flather's artwork exposure to the International Art
Scene but he was also able to place many of DM Flather's best
paintings in the top Private and Corporate Art Collections and
he was able to creat substantial price appreciation for DM Flather's
original paintings over the years. Unfortunately, Torben Kristiansen
passed away July 1, 2023.

40 paintings were shown, including many never previously exhibited.
Exhibition continued thru Dec. 11, 2004. This show was produced
in conjunction with The Art Emporium.
